( uncommon time ) walkthrough part 11
bel canto IV;
Return to Bel Canto and examine Arietta's grave for a cutscene. You will now be able to enter the next dungeon.
uncommon time III;
The enemies in this area are extremely tough. Equip anti-Confusion accessories and persevere; rearrange Aubrey's equipment as necessary.
Items:
You will reach the customary point of no return at the end of the area, so make sure to save in a separate file.
music box / grand pause;
tier one;
Once you regain control, you may want to spend a little time leveling up near the heal spot before progressing--you have the advantage of equipment, but that will only go so far.
When you're ready, continue forward. There is a heal spot in every area just in case. Reaching the end of the area will give you access to a scene.
tier two;
After the event, you will be in a new area with a new party member. The enemies here are the same ones from Uncommon Time III, but even with your level advantage it will be difficult to deal with them given that you have no way of blocking status ailments. Make liberal use of cutin attacks to progress.
You will have to investigate the sparkling cattails in areas 3 and 5 in order to advance the story and become able to progress further.
Items:
boss: dragon;
Recommended Level: N/A
This boss may actually be easier than some of the random encounters in the area! It is resistant to fire but weak against water, so make use of your new party member's cutin skill while keeping a weather eye out for the need to heal.
After the boss fight, continue on and examine the last cattail to progress the story.
tier three;
You can talk to the collapsed people, but it will not do much good. Be careful of random encounters, and continue south until you run into a cutscene.
Watch the series of scenes; when you regain control, go to the north entrance and continue forward for a brief cutscene. Take the upper entrance to get a second short cutscene. When that's over, return the way you came and go back to the mansion.
tier four;
When the scenes are over with, you will have a new party member. You can speak to the maid outside the store to buy items; if you've completed the Apothecary's Favor quest even partway you will have a larger range of items to buy. Leave town when you're ready.
The enemy encounters will still be tough; your journey will be interrupted by a series of cutscenes. Once you have reached your destination and witnessed the last cutscene, you will be rewarded with a new cutin skill for your friend and tasked with returning home.
Use the healing point in the cave on the way back, because a boss will be blocking your way.
boss: minotaur;
Recommended Level: N/A
Your new party member may have a tough time keeping up with the fight if you haven't gained any levels, but it's still possible to win. Use the old trusty Wet + wind spells trick plus buffs and regular healing and you'll be able to win.
Once you are through with the boss fight, return to town.
tier five;
There aren't any random encounters here, so you can explore the area without worrying.
Return to town for a few pertinent cutscenes.
tier six;
When you have control of Alto again, the party will be split up. Speak to each of your team members to hear their thoughts on what you've just seen (any order is fine, though I'd recommend starting clockwise from Teagan) and have them join back up. Once you have all of them back you will be able to progress.
The boxes with jewels inside hold items if you examine them. Fight through the monsters and explore on your way to the heart of the area.
Items:
You can buy items and accessories from the fairies. As before, your progress in the Apothecary's Favor sidequest will determine what items are available.
Heal, save, level grind a bit if necessary, and move on to the next area when you're ready.
boss: arietta;
Recommended Level: 50+
This boss is fast, completely immune to attack debuffs, attacks twice per turn, can dispel your buffs, and can inflict Burn status. Equip your party members with items to block Burn and reduce fire damage, keep your speed and defense buffed, and swap members in and out as necessary. Heal regularly, hit with your strongest attacks (Alto's Grand Concerto, Aubrey's Crescent Moon, and Teagan's New Leaves Dancing will win your bread), and be ready to drop into emergency survival mode at any time. With luck and perseverance, you will win.
After the boss battle, you will obtain an accessory for Alto and be returned to the Bel Canto graveyard. You may now rechallenge the final boss atop Metronome Tower in order to get the true ending.
true final boss;
boss: distortion;
Recommended Level: 50-55
This boss is considerably more powerful (and more annoying) than it was the first time you faced it, and now possesses multiple cutin attacks to boot. It will use each cutin at least once when you have it down past certain increments of its main HP (though if you are very lucky you might be able to kill it before it uses the third one!).
Since this is the last battle you will ever fight, don't hold anything back; use any remaining doping items and don't spare any healing items.
Losing to this boss will still trigger Ending 3; winning will allow you to see Ending 1.
